Well-known and popular pop rock band, K2, needs no introduction. Audiences have enjoyed their performances alongside musical legends such as Smokie, The Parlotones, Prime Circle, Wonderboom, mean mr mustard and Joseph Clarke. K2’s Daniel and Frans may be chalk and cheese when it comes to the rugby and soccer teams they support, but on stage, these two create musical magic.

In addition to their musical career, Daniel and Frans also own a club. However, they don’t spend all their time indoors, making music and keeping the crowds on their feet in dark rooms, hazy with smoke. The duo leads a pretty active lifestyle and enjoys scuba-diving, horse-riding and meeting new people.

Like most artists, K2 enjoys playing their original material. They have a very distinctive style of music and the dynamics between Frans and Daniel on stage is part of what makes them such a popular and much loved band. Add to that a good dose of versatility and it is no surprise that this band gets booked for gigs time and time again.

Despite their popularity, Frans and Daniel are refreshingly humble and down to earth. Their main goal is to become the best they can be and to be an inspiration and example to others. They credit friends, family and their Maker for their success and for inspiring them every day to do what it is they do. Surprisingly, it is not bright and busy Johannesburg, or laid-back cool Cape Town where they most like to perform. In fact, they prefer performing in the picturesque town of Clarens.

Their idea of an ideal day is simple: relaxing with friends and family. And those favourite sports teams? They both enjoy rugby and soccer, with Daniel supporting Arsenal and Frans supporting Chelsea. Better give them a wide berth though when the Cheetahs (Daniel) and the Western Province (Frans) face each other on the rugby field…
