Legendary South African FMX champion and Red Bull Athlete, Nick De Wit is set to take to the South African skies with his personal selection of the best riders in the country. Crowds will be treated to an acrobatic display of modern FMX; with big moves and big ‘cojones’ on display at this year’s Red Bull X-Fighters Jams.
There are seemingly no limits for De Wit. He became the first African to compete in Red Bull X-Fighters, and has achieved 5th in the World Rankings and 4th in two separate World Cup events. He has mastered his fears, pulling off mind-blowing tricks, and even securing a 4th place in X Games Best Trick in Dubai; cementing his place as one of the best in the world.
De Wit says, ‘Red Bull X-Fighters take place in locations where you would never expect top-class motorsports. The FMX tour stops at the most famous cities and historic sites all around the world and we are looking forward to bringing the Jams to SA’.
The 2011 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour features stops in United Arab Emirates (Apr 15), Brazil (May 28), Italy (June 24), Spain (July 15) and Poland (August 6), before the World Tour will finish in Australia (September 17) for the first time in its 10-year history. At the same time, the Red Bull X-Fighters Jams, designed as a series of FMX exhibitions to showcase the main Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour, attract thousands of people in every country. It’s a “must see” show.
The South African leg of the Red Bull X-Fighters Jams kicked off on the beaches of Durban on 9 July and runs throughout the country, finishing up in Stellenbosch on 26 August.
